Ridley College to Release Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI)

For the Future Development of 49 Ridley Road

Ridley College will release a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) for the potential development of two key parcels of land located at 49 and 59 Ridley Road in St. Catharines. This 4.4-hectare site is strategically positioned within the planned GO Transit area, offering a unique opportunity for innovative development to enhance and elevate the local community. 

Ridley acquired the land in 2003 and has since completed an urban design plan and environmental study, in addition to research on similar transit hubs. The purpose of the RFEI is to acquire insights and concepts from potential development partners on what possibilities exist for the land. 

Potential uses for this land may include: 

• Residential, commercial, employment, cultural, and green spaces: A mixed-use approach that caters to various needs, combining living, working, cultural and recreational spaces within a single, integrated development. 

• Range and mix of housing: Housing that supports a diverse population, accommodating different household sizes and living preferences. 

• Active senior living: Facilities and amenities designed to support active senior lifestyles, promoting health and wellbeing for older residents.
