Checklist for Newly Enrolled Families
As you start your journey at Ridley, there are a few things to do before the school year begins. We've created a checklist to help you prepare for your child's first day.
In July, current Ridley College Family Guild (RCFG) parents will contact newly enrolled families through the Family Mentor Programme. If you're new to Ridley, expect an email or call from a family mentor who can answer questions about being a Ridley parent. We hope this programme helps you and your child transition smoothly and build community relationships.
- Sign and submit your enrollment contract on TigerNET.
- Ensure your account is up to date based on the payment plan you chose on your enrollment contract.
- Email copies of the following items to our Lower School Office Administrator, Mrs. Jodi Battle, at [email protected].
- The completed Consent to Transfer form (if you are transferring from an Ontario school).
- Proof of your child’s legal name with a birth certificate or passport scan.
- A copy of your child’s final report card (if applicable).
Additional steps for international families:
As your child is a new international student at Ridley College, you are required to submit their immigration documents before they commence their studies at Ridley.
Log into your TigerNET account to access the Immigration Checklist and upload the required documents for your child to study in Canada. Upload all available documents as soon as they are available.
Your child's Study Permit will be issued upon arrival in Canada. Upload it as soon as possible. If your child needs help uploading it, they should contact the Admissions team, who will be available during orientation.
Learn more about study permits, visas and custodianship requirements.
We offer extensive on-campus health resources for all Ridley students. Please provide your child's health information by August 15th to ensure we can offer the best care.
Submit all medical records and health information through August Schools, accessible via each parent’s TigerNET account.
Before August 15th, you should:
• Complete the health forms on your child's account.
• Provide proof of a valid Provincial or Territorial health card (if applicable).
• Add your child's immunization records.
Learn more about these requirements, systems and our on-campus health care.
For your child to make the most out of their Ridley experience, there are a few items that we request you send with them at the start of the school year.
Uniforms
There are three ways for you to order your child’s uniform before arriving in September:
- Fill out our uniform package order form to receive every item your student needs for the school year. Uniform order forms open on July 21st and close on August 29th. Order your GIRLS uniforms for JK–Grade 3 or Grades 4–6. Order your BOYS uniforms for JK–Grade 3 or Grades 4–6. Note: Uniform orders will start being filled on July 30th.
- Book a uniform fitting appointment and purchase your items during the appointment. Between August 4th and 28th, your family can book a fitting appointment to ensure you purchase the correct size uniform.
- Order individual uniform items at www.shopridley.ca.
Here is our Lower School uniform policy.

School Supplies
Purchase our recommended school supplies and label each item with your child's name:
- JK–Grade 1 students should bring a backpack, extra clothing, indoor shoes, a water bottle (with a secure lid) and headphones.
- Grades 2–6 students should bring a backpack, pencil case, headphones, indoor running shoes, a water bottle (with a secure lid), and extra clothing. In addition, Grades 5 and 6 students should also bring a lock for their locker if they are comfortable handling a combination code.
Technology
Ridley is a Microsoft Office 365 school that provides all necessary software for students. JK–Grade 6 students receive school-owned devices: iPads for JK–Grade 4 and Mac laptops for Grades 5–6. Students may bring their own laptops if they prefer.
As a new boarding family, we know there are many things to consider, from your child’s travel to campus to what they should pack. We want to take the mystery out of the boarding experience to help make the transition to life at Ridley as smooth as possible.
Below are a few steps you need to take before you arrive on campus.
- Book your child's transportation to campus. New boarding students are invited to arrive and move into their boarding houses on September 1st.
- Plan accommodations if your child is arriving before their move-in date. We recommend the following accommodation options:
- Hospitalité Canada has worked with Ridley College for over 15 years to provide care to international students needing a safe place to live while not at school.
- International Student Guardianship Canada (ISGC) offers a short-term homestay programme which allows students to stay in a safe and friendly home within a community in Ontario.
- Pack all of the items suggested on our packing list.
Following house placements in the spring, the Heads of Houses will send all boarders a welcome email and information for the coming school year.
Checklist for Returning Families
Welcome back to Ridley! Although you’ve been through at least one school year with us, we wanted to ensure you had all the information you needed to prepare for your child’s first day back at Ridley.
- Make sure you have signed and submitted your enrollment contract on TigerNET.
- Ensure your account is up to date based on the payment plan you chose on your enrollment contract.
Additional steps for international families:
Ridley College has recently adopted a new document management system for international students. We request your support to update your child’s immigration documents before school start-up in September.
Log into your TigerNET account to access the Immigration Checklist and upload the required documents for your child to study in Canada. Upload all available documents as soon as they are available.
Remind yourself about study permits, visas, and custodianship requirements.
Although we have your child's health records on file, please review and update their information on August Schools by August 15th to ensure we can offer the best care on campus.
Before August 15th, you should:
- Update the health forms listed on your child's account.
- Provide proof of a valid (non-expired) Provincial or Territorial health card (if applicable).
- Update your child’s immunization records.
Refresh your knowledge about these requirements, systems and our on-campus health care in general.

- Grade 2: Bring a pencil case.
- Grade 5: Bring a combination lock for their locker if comfortable with a combination code.
Uniforms
If your child is moving into Grade 4, there are some changes to the uniform policy.
