The Ridley College Family Guild (RCFG) is a parent-driven organization with over 100 years of history in supporting our students and school.
Upon the enrollment of their child(ren) at Ridley, every parent and guardian automatically become members of the Guild.
One of the primary roles of the RCFG is to orient new Ridley families through offering a parent perspective and advice from first-hand experience. The Family Mentor programme plays into this initiative and runs through the Guild. Further volunteer opportunities in which members of the Guild can get involved take place throughout the year and the Guild formally meets on campus one Tuesday each month.
The Ridley College Family Guild runs a number of committees, helps with events and participates in a range of community activities. Sign up for events via: SignUp Genius!
Members of the Baking For Boarders committee are designated a Friday for which they will provide nighttime treats for boarders in Burgoyne House (Grades 5-8). They should commit to three dozen nut-free baked goods delivered to the Lower School front office at 8:30 a.m. of their designated Friday.
The Chapel committee members decorate our Chapel for special events and care for Chapel plants.
Each year Ridley holds a one-day Christmas market organized and hosted by the RCFG. This is the only school event to involve the Upper and Lower Schools, faculty, staff, parents, and the wider local community.
A team of RCFG volunteers sets up and takes down decorations at various special events such as Graduation, the Cadet Ball and our Christmas Market.
Ridley College family and friends come together to connect, have fun and support the school’s annual fund campaign. Activities on the night include bingo games, snacks, a light meal and prizes such as various designer purses and accessories.
The Family Mentor programme welcomes new families to the Ridley community, contacting them with either a welcome call or email to enable them to ask questions. Correspondence between the mentors and families starts around July and continues throughout the summer.
Lost items are collected and washed ready to be displayed for collection. Any unclaimed items are donated to charity.
The Recycled Uniform Programme (RUP) collects, launders and sells used Ridley uniforms.
The Sports & Hospitality committee sets up food and beverages for events such as our Homecomings, Nine Lessons and Carols and Graduate Prize Day.
The TigerFest Carnival is a family-oriented event that takes place in early June. It is planned and organized by members of the Family Guild.
